Terms of Service
Last updated: Draft — not yet reviewed or published
This is a first draft describing how Petsy's subscription, billing, and account terms actually work today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Fields in brackets need real details, and the document should get legal review before you rely on it with paying customers.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating a Petsy account or using the dashboard, you agree to these Terms of Service on behalf of yourself and the business you represent. If you don't agree, don't use Petsy.
2. What Petsy is
Petsy is a multi-tenant software-as-a-service dashboard for pet businesses — vet clinics, grooming shops, boarding, and similar — to manage clients, pets, appointments, staff, contracts, and billing. Each Business that signs up gets its own isolated workspace.
3. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity that happens under your account, including actions taken by staff members you invite.
- As the Business account owner, you control who has staff access to your workspace, and can revoke it at any time.
4. Subscription & billing
- Petsy is offered on paid subscription tiers, billed monthly or yearly, processed through Stripe. Current pricing is shown on the Billing page inside the dashboard.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time from the Billing page; your access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not currently offer partial-period refunds unless required by law.
- If a payment fails and isn't resolved within [e.g. 7 days], your workspace may be suspended until payment is made, without deleting your data.
5. Your data
Data you enter into your workspace — clients, pets, appointments, contracts, sales, expenses — belongs to you, the Business. We act as a processor of that data on your behalf, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and store your own clients' personal data (for example, pet owner names, contacts, and signed contracts) in Petsy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Petsy for any unlawful purpose, or to store data you don't have the right to hold.
- Attempt to access another Business's workspace or data without authorization.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the platform.
- Resell or white-label Petsy without a separate written agreement.
7. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate a workspace for non-payment, violation of these terms, or unlawful use. You may close your account at any time; see our Privacy Policy for how long your data is retained afterward.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep Petsy available and reliable, but the service is provided "as is" without guarantee of uninterrupted uptime. We are not liable for losses arising from temporary outages, scheduled maintenance, or issues outside our reasonable control.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Petsy and [Legal entity name] are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the [e.g. 12 months] before the claim arose.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated to Business account owners by email before they take effect.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction, e.g. UAE / a specific US state], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Contact
